Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about dog walking:
How long is the walk?
Can you help with my puppy’s housebreaking?
Are the walks private?
How does payment work?
What happens when it rains?
Q: How long is the walk?
A: Dog walking visits, like pet sitting visits are 30 minutes. The main difference between the two services is that pet sitting usually involves a broader range of care, whereas dog walking is all about recreation and exercise.
Q: Can you help with my puppy’s housebreaking?
A: Absolutely! Many of our clients use this service for that purpose. Canine trainers and behaviorists all agree that crate training is the most effective way to housetrain a puppy. The concept is built on the principal that dogs instinctively won’t defecate where they eat or sleep. Depending on their age, a young puppy can’t hold it for more than 3-5 hours at a time during the day. That’s where we come in, we’ll let them out so they can relieve themselves and spend some time with them so they grow up to be well socialized with humans.
Q: Are the walks private?
A: Typically yes. However if your dog enjoys the company of other dogs we may bring another client’s or our own dogs with us. We would, of course, get your permission first.
Q: How does payment work?
A: Clients whose dogs are on a regular weekly schedule will receive monthly invoices. Other clients using our services as needed will provide payment on or before the day service is schedule. Click here for more information about our billing policies.
Q: What happens when it rains?
A: Fortunately this is not a frequent concern in sunny Southern California. When we meet with you we’ll discuss your preference. Most clients continue their service and leave us a towel to use when we return. We can’t let the rain stop us, if we lived in Seattle our dogs wouldn’t go for walks nine months out of the year!
